“Marguerite’s Italian Village”

Hurricane Katrina took its toll in many forms. One huge loss to Pascagoula was the loss of the very successful Italian cuisine of Marguerite’s Italian Village. This landmark served our area for more than 25 years. Upon entering Marguerite’s, you were greeted by the gracious owners, Katherine Hunt and Liz O’Cain who knew most if not all, their patrons personally. Aromatically greeting you were the delectable Italian dishes like stuffed baked “Eggplant Lamberto”, “Veal Milanese”, “She Crab Soup” and my personal favorite, the “Marguerite’s Special” – sautéed fresh gulf shrimp and mushrooms in a seasoned garlic butter served over buttered spaghetti.

With this painting, Liz shares with all, her recipe for “Marguerite’s Special” on the back. Thank you Liz, for sharing. We miss you and your cuisine!
