“Lake Drive-In Theatre”

The Lake Drive-In Theatre was situated just South of Jerry Lee’s Grocery in Pascagoula, Mississippi and operated from the early 1950’s to the late 1970’s. Through the years it meant different things to moviegoers depending on your age. As children, we spent hours on the playground equipment in front of the big screen and as teenagers, we tried to sneak in to the drive-in without paying and fogged up windows with smooching. Who will forget the smell of mosquito-coils burning trying to eradicate the ever-present bugs. There are few drive-in theatres left in the country and those of us who ever went to one will never forget the experience.
